Seattle Public Schools Website Refresh

In Fall 2015, I began work on the district and school website design refresh for Seattle Public Schools as the project manager.

The current design for the district’s home page.

The first step, plotting the project management plan, writing the RFP, selecting the vendor and moving the contract through the business and legal offices took about 6 months.

From May through the end of June, I have lead the user requirement gathering stage, which involved user and web editor interviews, focus groups and an online survey.

  • Audience ~ WHO
  • Issues ~ WHAT (What is the audience seeking during visit to the site)
  • Approach ~ HOW (How does the site deliver)

The first conversations with the chairs will guide me as I ask other board members to serve on the design committee for the project. (more…)
